Nautical Club of Lemnos, as a key partner of the European CoWay project (funded by Erasmus+), participated in the first transnational meeting that took place in Izola, Slovenia. There, together with the other partners of the programme, were discussed both organisational issues concerning the activities of the programme, as well as technical issues that strengthen the know-how and NOL’s position in the national classic rowing and coastal rowing.
The presence of the Nautical Club of Lemnos in the transnational meeting, apart from being beneficial for the club, was crucial both for the conduct of the CoWay, as NOL is responsible for ensuring the quality of the results and the good operation of the programme, as well as for the promotion of Lemnos as an ideal place for the development of coastal rowing.
NOL as one of the first nautical clubs that introduced for the first time and develops the new sport of coastal rowing on the island of Lemnos, through its activities manages to strengthen its position in the domestic and international nautical sport and to promote Lemnos as one of the most important rowing centres in Greece and the Balkans. NOL was represented by Konstantinos Dikranis (coach and responsible for technical issues) and Stavros Samiotis (member and responsible for organizational issues).
