INCLUSION & DIVERSITY

In all fields of education, training, youth, and sport.

CRITICAL THINKING

It is essential to revise scientific assumptions in sports to encourage critical thinking among scientists, coaches, and practitioners, thereby enhancing their methodological decision-making.

COASTAL ROWING

Coastal rowing, a relatively young sport, offers an ideal outlet for newcomers seeking leisure and wellness through a connection with nature.

Coastal rowing serves as our pathway to support these objectives by fostering unity among individuals and facilitating the exchange of meaningful experiences. It is crucial to raise awareness among individuals and institutions in our immediate and broader community about coastal rowing, its inclusivity, diversity, and the multitude of possibilities and benefits it brings to our society.

Alongside our everyday engagement in the local community and social media content, we have exciting plans for the following special activities to further raise awareness:

COASTAL ROWING CAMP

Join our residential camp for an immersive coastal rowing experience, open to all, and uncover the awe-inspiring moments that have already captured the local community.

SPORT EVENTS

Engage in local sporting events including an exhilarating indoor rowing relay race competition and a challenging endurance rowing marathon.

INTERVIEWS

Gain insights from interviews with athletes and coaches who have already transcended gender boundaries in their sports experiences.

SPORTS ANALYSIS

By leveraging sports data analysis, we will develop a tool that empowers coaches to construct training plans leading to measurable and sustainable competitive advantages.

crossingAbout to become an Olympic game (LA Olympics, 2028), coastal rowing is a very fast-growing water sport.
CROssING (“Coastal rowing for a green, intergenerational and gender-balanced future”) is a project that not only organizes not-for-profit European sport events at a culminating point of this sport history, but also makes sport coastal rowing activity a trigger for growth and development of European coastal zones in a future to be characterized by green, intergenerational and gender-balanced perspective.
6 nautical clubs in coastal zones (in France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Greece, and Slovenia) plus a company with expertise in social participation for local development, form a 7-partner consortium in this 12M project.
CROsING promotes both intergenerational and gender-balanced participation in sport/physical activity and places nautical clubs at the core of the debate on a green future growth for coastal zones.

Our project arises from the need for water sports to protect the marine environment in which they develop their sport, committing to the care of the ocean, ensuring environmental sustainability.

We have selected four water sports (sailing, diving, canoe-kayaking and swimming) each implemented by one of our partners, in each of the four countries of our consortium.

Through the sport itself, we will carry out the following work plan:

  1. Research on those waste products that we will find in the sea and that are harmful to our sporting practice and marine environment in general.
  2. Sensitisation and information with schoolchildren, with the aim of educating, through challenges, related to our sports and microtrainings that educate environmentally.
  3. Once we have developed the connection between information, awareness and training, we will design an action plan, connecting everything we have described above, with each of our sports disciplines, creating a guide of good practices, related to our sports, for the development of aquatic sports events in an environmentally friendly way.
  4. Finally, we will put into practice everything we have worked on so far and for this we will organise four sporting events, in each of the countries, as a ME and in each sporting discipline, which will serve to disseminate our materials and evaluate the implementation of the good practice guide for the organisation of aquatic sporting events, respectful of the environment, reducing the environmental impact.

We will invite associations that work with disabled sportspeople to these sporting events in order to promote their inclusion and involve them in our aquatic activities as a source of stimulation, as all our partners also work in the field of inclusion through sport
